Texas Is Beautiful is a gardening and landscaping publication written for people who garden in Texas conditions. Not a generic national gardening site, and not a catalog. Our subject is the flowers that actually thrive here and the landscaping practices that keep a yard alive through a Texas summer.

What we cover

Our writing falls into three areas. Wildflowers covers the native blooms that define a Texas spring, from bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush to the fall wave most visitors never see. Garden color covers flowering plants that hold up to heat and drought, like lantana, cenizo, and salvia. Landscaping covers the practical side: planning beds, improving soil, watering sensibly, and designing for low water without giving up flowers.

How we write

Every article is written in plain language and edited for accuracy against horticultural sources, including university extension guidance for Texas growing conditions. We describe typical ranges, not guarantees, because soil and microclimate differ from one street to the next. Where a topic has real safety implications, such as plant toxicity or chemical use, we say so rather than glossing over it.

We do not publish content we would not act on ourselves, and we correct errors when readers point them out. Our editorial policy covers our standards and corrections process in more detail.
